Watts H560 water pressure regulator malfunction

I went through 3 gauges before I finally just plugged the hole in the regulator. I have a separate gauge with a hose connector that lives in the house where it won't freeze and break. The regulator has never varied a bit, but the gauges got ruined every winter.

Water stayed in the bourdon tube and froze, ruining it.
