Westinghouse iGen2500

Anyone own one ? Impressions ? They seem to have a "leg up" on all of the "suitcase" style generators at 2500W starting and 2200W running even over Honda and Yamaha.

Less expensive than Honda or Yamaha but more expensive than Harbor Freight Predator or Champion.

    I will ask one question.
Honda's have a GENUINE fuel pump. they can "Suck" gas out of a container.. Said container is called an "Extended run kit" YOu can fill the on-board tank, replace the cap with the ER cap. hook up an ER tank and run all day and night and come tomorrow unhook the ER tank just long enough to refill and keep on pumping watts down the wire.

I know of no other that can do that... BUT. I also do not know (with one exception) If a brand can NOT. And this is not the exception.
  • I have one. I like it for its power. With a Micro Air Easy Start it starts and runs my A/C just fine. It is a bit louder than I thought it would be. It is very portable and lightweight. Hundreds less than Honda.

  • I have been using that exact model for over a year. Great generator. Definitely would buy again. It is easy on gas, quite, and best of all it runs my a/c (had to add a starting capacitor).

    Have a great day

  • I had the clone of that genny. I think I got it from COSTCO a few years ago. It was hard starting and it wasn't what I would call particularly quiet. At least, compared to my Yamaha and Honda gennys I have with the same rating. I remember I paid about $400 for it and sold it for the same amount a few months later when fellow campers complained about the noise and I had to agree.
