If your WFCO is fried, this is your chance to get something else, such as that PowerMax I linked earlier. WFCOs have "issues" so you could be back here about those pretty soon, even if you get a new WFCO the same as that.
If I switch as you recommend, what about the breakers? The fried WFCO is a power center with 12dc and standard breakers. Sorry for all the questions, new to the RV thing.
The AC (120v) breakers and the DC (12v) fuse panel do not change. Only the "converter" part changes when you swap. Sometimes the converter is sort of built in as the "lower portion" of the power centre, but also it can be a separate mounting, such as in some Sunseeker Class Cs.
You can get a deck mount converter and put it anywhere you can get 120v for it. You do not have to yank out the fried converter if not convenient. Just unplug it and plug in the new one, and attach the new one's output DC wires to the same lugs on the DC fuse panel as the old one used.
If you have to, there are replacement converters of other brands that go in where your WFCO converter sits now. Usually not as good an idea, because you want the converter to be closer to the batteries than the OEM one, so you can use shorter DC wires to get less R and more amps that way.
