WFCO Converter
At the suggestion of a member I tested my converter with the following result: No shore power, no generator: 12.2VDC Shore power (110VAC) : 12.5VDC Generator power : 12.5VDC ...

Of the RVers I personally know who had/have WFCO converters, well over 50% of them have failed. Besides my own, I have 3 donated ones in my shop. They're repairable and make great battery chargers. Too bad, because they are better than PD converters in several ways: (1) Superior sensing/charging algorithm IF wired and sized to the battery correctly, (2) Pro-active instead of reactive fan control, and (3) Full power output with marginal AC power sources. But when they quit working, and most of them do, none of the better features are worth anything.SidecarFlip wrote:
I think I'd just bite the bullet and get a PD drop in upgrade and be done with it. That WFCO will fail at some point anyway. Made in Marshall, Michigan is a lot better in my view than made in China.
Internet folklore. :R Not unlike many RV owners I've owned several WFCO converters in several different trailers and haven't any issues with any of them, other than none of them would bulk charge the battery @ 14.4 volts - but none ever "failed". .......
