A buddy of mine had me check over his WFCO inverter 8835 that was no longer charging. I found that Capacitor 10 which is a 25V 220Uf 105 degree rating was bad. This seems it could be a common problem...

I used Reynolds extra-heavy duty foil as a sheet thermal barrier. A spootch of adhesive on the ceramic power resistor. Dropped temp of the capacitor in 82F ambient from 126F to 103F
A silent fan blowing across the resistor / capacitor area also works like a charm. Like 25db.
