I use to call them "Ree-Nalt Daphne" Found on side of roadways with rear lid up, a puddle of liquid underneath, or one corner sitting on the ground. They and Citroen were France's masterpieces of conservation. No workee no smogee.
I came to the conclusion in the mid 1960's that Lucas was a WW I "plant" by the Germans to collapse the British economy. When electrical failed in my British/Ford car, switches, gauges, and components smoke smouldered or ignited, I replaced them with USA stuff. I snarled all the British fasteners could make "Grade 1" only on a particularly good day. In the 1970's stereo audiophile industry there was a brand that stood out like an inflamed hemorrhoid - Karman Hardon.
There was no salvaging of the older WFCO units I fought. They were perfection incarnate of uncorrectable novice design. It's like everyone hated the company and did their level best to open the sea ROOSTERS. Sea Clocks. **** a doodle-doo censorship in action
Hopefully my not-so subtle humor will bring forth chuckles and guffaws, too many forums insist on taking themselves far too seriously and humor is discouraged. Pity - sarcasm is an art form to be revered.
