You should not be, since your batts are not nearly full. You need more time at 14.6 to allow the batts to get to 14.6 and then stay there for the absorption stage.
You can cure that by using the adjustable voltage mode (read the instructions) with a little screwdriver to twiddle the pot. Set 14.6 or whatever your battery specs call for and leave it there till voltage measured at the battery posts is equal to the voltage you set on the charger. Now you can twiddle it down to 13.6 or else, if you chose 14.6, then you can just snap the mode switch over to automatic. Read the instructions so you don't screw up the set voltages for the auto mode
You need a multimeter and the screwdriver to operate the LK. You do not have to wear a special hat though. :)
