MEXICOWANDERER

RJ,
Look close. No I mean outside past the bars. See those brown eyes? They're chimpanzees looking in and commenting to each other. The monkeys are running the zoo and you are the star attraction. Every aspect of life including regulations and merchandice design for RVs is being puppeteered by legal pressure to conform to somone else's wishes as to what you should buy. If I were to say stoutly object to the stupidly designed RV electrical shore power plugs and sockets have you any idea what kind of maelstrom this would cause? Twist-Lock connectors are so vastly superior to simple push and pull ot isn't funny. And the concept is not expensive. But it is a design gridlock. A 30-amp 120-volt twist lock will outlive a push pull receptacle manyfold.
We are not permitted to think any more. The linkage between scientists, engineers and consumer is broken perhaps forever. If you are unable to fathom this I pity you.
If I brought my BORG north and put it to work in a commercial status and OSHA got wind of it they would crucify me. The inspector is not qualified cannot even conceptualize obvious safety features plain to the naked eye. Not UL or ETL approved and he hasn't a clue as to what design requirements would qualify the device.
New chargers eliminate transformers and manual control. They have inalterable training wheels on them to avoid lawsuits. The people who promote these abominations have no idea how to manage a lead acid battery. Not a clue. Baffle 'em with enough BS and they'll buy it. Then they'll eventually start humming the company jingle.
How time has changed since the adventerous early days of RVing. So sad.
