BFL13 - I like your solar setup ideas. I am currently one of those who has a battery bank to run all the 120VAC and 12VDC toys we want to have with us when camping off the power grid and running a "VERY QUIET" 2KW Honda Generator every morning at 8AM when allowed to run a generator. I try to re-charge my battery bank to full state of charge every ten days but for me that takes a good 12 hours of running the generator on site which is never allowed where we go. Sometimes I just run the generator anyway since no one can hear it almost sitting under my truck bed hard folding plastic bed covers. When the Marines SWAT Team shows up to tell me to shut it down I just say "What generator ??" Then I go go shut it off hehe...
I always thought just 120WATTS of SOLAR would be all I needed to add to the battery bank re-charge everyday when the SUN was out. Have a good spot on roof of the POPUP for two panels but this wouldn't include any hinges to angle the panels any.
I would probably have to re-think my PLAN-B of throwing a 20X30 Tarp over my whole trailer during those two-three long rainy days to give us a larger patio sitting area in front of the POPUP. SOLAR panels probably wouldn't work very well during rainy days anyway...
