200 watts (Three 50 watt Sun panels and one unknown 50 watt panel)
Morningstar Tristar TS-45 PWM Charge Controller

Harbor Freight 300w inverter
Trimetric 2020 Meter
DIY install January 2010 while boondocking in the desert
No generator.
In addition to solar I have all LED lighting (except one cold cathode florescent tube). No circuit boards, no high amp loads. Inverter is used to power laptop, external speakers, external hard drive and chargers for cell phone, mp3 player and r/c airplane.
Solar allows me to avoid campgrounds without power worries, which I find to be a much better camping experience. It allows me to access the internet, watch movies, fly my little plane, keep my phone and mp3 player charged, plus the usual electrical uses such as water pump and lighting, all without a care in the world of running short of electricity and all without having to run a generator. Ever.
Prior to having solar it was a constant struggle keeping the batteries charged. It's great to not have to worry about that anymore.
