I got one off EBay 6 months ago. It was one recommended by someone else on this forum. Just started out on a 3 month trip so have tried to use it. Cannot get it to record for more than a couple of minutes. I press the record button and it stops recording pretty quickly.

Instructions are written in Chinglish and are very poor. Would send it back for a refund but too much time has elapsed. '

DW thinks I should get a GoPro but I am now thinking this is merely a toy and not worth the aggravation.

a decent dash cam $52. a go pro $300. worth it only if you want a helmet mount for sky diving. several alternates much cheaper. will go pro overwrite and record in a loop? if not, worthless

Has anyone compared the battery model at 320mah to the capacitor model?

Not the answer you're looking for but I just replaced the battery in my G1W as it was only lasting less than a minute when power was cut. Had some 250mAH lipos around from another product that needed the internal battery replaced. Had to transfer over the protection circuit over.

With the new battery, my G1W will last 20 mins before turning off.
Note that I don't use it in this manner - have the lighter turn it on and off but I was having it sometime kick off when cranking and the weather was cold with the worn out battery.

I have looked at and bought a few dash cams in the lower price range and have had luck on only one the G1W I like this one because of its size and ease of operation also the quality of the video and playback.

I purchased it from estore 009 on EBay

  • There was recently a couple of dash cam threads. I am on my Ipad and cannot provide links.

I think mine is called a 207 but don't remember for sure.

There is also an excellent dash cam website. Might be called Dash cam talk, again no links because of Ipad.
  • I too have the G1W from Estore 009 on Ebay and love it. ~$52.
Fits between my rear view mirror and the windshield on my car, wide view lens, great picture quality.

  • Paul, I recently bought mine from Amazon. It's the Prance Mini 0801. I love it. Day and night recording is very clear. It was easy to set up, hides easily behind my rear view mirror. Can record with or without audio and much more. You can see reviews of it on You Tube. Amazons price is around $108.00. I found this unit meets what I want it to do. Lots to choose from out there. I didn't need all the bells and whistles that come with the more expensive units and wanted a little more than the less expensive ones. Like I said it fits what I was looking for.
