What Generator for a 15000BTU AC unit?

Hello, we just upsized travel trailers and the new one has a 15000BTU AC unit on it.

I am looking for a Generator that will allow us to run the AC. I'm not worried about running multiple items like Microwave and AC. I know to not do that.

I am guessing a 3000 unit or dual 2000s should but really am not sure. Weight is an issue as to big and heavy for my old body to move around would make it a pain. (literally)

Anyone that can offer some good advice/experience here is appreciated.

My 2 Honda 2ks will easily run my Duotherm BriskAir..on Eco throttle no less. Not only that, I can run the MW at the same time, albeit for only 30 seconds or so. Those boys are working really hard to do that, so I'm not pushing it.

40lbs is beginning to be an issue for me, so I carry and use a hand truck. Darn handy tool for moving anything of bulk and weight, like propane cylinders and tote tanks.
  • Your guess is correct 3K or maybe dual 2K's. The starting amp draw is the problem. 3K generators are heavy.
