I am reading a space novela where the transport ship was a product of mining millions of asteroids with robots and is so vast the captain's cabin has a forest lake a kilometer long, with a log cabin. These space opera authors really let it all hang out. The imagination of old authors like Andre Norton, pale in comparison.
However I still see a heavy focus on synthetic luxury in today's RV's. Form over function. Designers must wince at the thought of their product doing anything but suckling at the nursing post of a 5-star resort with a Jack Nicklaus 18-hole golf course and club house.
Pitch a tent in Central Park and then send out for Blintze and craft beer?
What is the most "Boondock Ready" Motorhome and 5th wheel? Big battery roll out tray or storage area -- large tanks, big galley and food prep and a dining area that isn't sized for a family of pygmy's?
