I was going to remove the side lights on our Rockwood 5th wheel to clean the metal ring of rust and repaint. However I quickly discovered these are not standard Torx head screws. A T20 is too large and a T15 is too small. Plus as shown in the attached photo, there are either 8 or 9, (I think it is 8) splines, where a Torx only has 6 splines. simple, it's NOT a Torx. Looks like a torx, but it is a square drive with 8 splines!!! go to a hardware store and get the appropriate square drive bit.
BTW your not the first person to be perplexed by this one. I've probably had a dozen folks ask me which torx bit fits these and when I say NONE, it's an 8 point square drive they often start arguing. when I put in a square drive and remove it they become believers.
