What makes a generator specifically a "RV" generator?

I'd suggest to buy a 2K Champion inverter generator and park it in your truck box. When in use, you should be able to connect the genset to the camper. THat will charge your house batteries. If you want to run any other 120V devices like tools and compressors, just plug them into the generator.

I've seen where Cabelas and other outlets put these Champion generators on sale, occasionally. It pays to shop around.
