what next

I was going to take it to the repair shop this morning but I decided to try one more time. I sprayed about another can of cleaner through the carb and blew out with the compressor again. I noticed the o-ring on the bowl looked dirty took it out and it and the spot where it goes on the carb were really dirty. cleaned them up and now runs great. I don't know if it was the o-ring or if I got something else this time but it works. Thanks for the help I save at least $90.00

Do you treat the fuel for storage?? Fuel will start going bad in less than 13 days if not treated. The Sea Foam is a good product for storage and cleaning. If the fuel has gone bad, the Sea Foam will clean it out, but, if the fuel dried out and lacquered, when new fuel with/or without Sea Foam or any other fuel system cleaner, will cause the lacquer to come off in flakes and will plug your jets. The cleaner will not clean it out, you will need to disassemble the carburetor and have it cleaned by submersion and have all the passages blown through with cleaner and shop air to make sure they are clear.

It started when I was doing my monthly exercising, before that it ran great. I have ran 2 tanks of gas with seafoam threw it. My other one that gets the same treatment runs fine. I bought them both brand new.

The jet doesn't wear out, perhaps there is still some material in it. The hole is tiny and I use a microscope to check parts before reassembly. If the jet(s) are corroded, or cant be cleaned, then replace.

So when did it quit running right? After winter storage? Did it ever run right for you? I/we need more clues.

If it ran good w/ open choke before, I would sure hesitate to change a jet to cover up the real problem.

Don't forget your fuel tank, fuel cock ( if you have one ), fuel filter, fuel lines, tank vent, etc..

Before replacing the jets try running a tank of fuel with the appropriate amount of carb cleaner.

Guessing vacuum leak or fuel restriction. Did you positively verify every fuel passage was open during the rebuild?

Could be a leaky intake gasket or 'O' ring. Once had the fuel filter in the tank outlet line get clogged. Real pain to get to.
