If bearings are starting to fail what signs do you notice. ( hot hubs, play in tire) anything else

Lift the tire off the ground and spin the wheel. It wont be smooth and you will hear random clicks and clunks. It also may move in directions that are not normal.
If while spinning it you notice noises but the wheel still spins smoothly, it can be a sign there is grease on the brakes.
