Well if you go with another Progressive hard wire EMS and install it yourself you'll instantly void any warranty on the unit, according to Progressive's most recent warranty declaration that was linked to earlier :M ... TRC makes no mention of self installation so presumably you'd be free to do the installation yourself. The only downside I see to the TRC hard wire is the remote monitor is an optional extra whereas it's included with the Progressive.
Call it retribution but in your shoes I'd probably go with a TRC and make sure Progressive knows why.
