What's the common receptacle used for 240v Ranges

Not an RV question but my daughter is looking to replace her 240v electric stove/oven. I have not had an electric range in over 30 years. She said the receptacle in the wall now is for 3 prongs. ...

I don't think code requires an update unless you are pulling wire. The existing NEMA 10-50 meets code as installed. I would not be excited to bond neutral and ground connecting an old 10-50 cord so I would probably be pulling new wire. I don't think you can skip bonding on the 10-50 cord of which bonding should only be done at the main panel when possible.
