What if any, is the difference in 6 volt deep cycle batteries and 6 volt golf cart batteries. I need to replace my trailer battery and want to go to two 6 volts. I see both referred to but don't know if there is a difference and if there is, which is preferred and why.
Six volt Golf Car batteries are Deep Cycle batteries.. Sold by a golf car dealer.. (Actually that last bit is a joke) The "GC" portion of the footprint code (GC-1, GC-2 or in Deka G-10, G-11) means Golf Car.
So if there is a difference it is this.. Golf Car batteries are designed to fit, physically, in a golf car's battery trays.
I have seen DEEP CYCLE batteries in other physical sizes. (Very rare in the six volt world but ..... They do exist).
As to internal differences.. None.
