On the chassis battery: Some RV's have bi-directional isolators, ON these machines the house charger can top off the chassis battery and, of course, the alternator charges the house,,, if that is it is working properly.
On others, it is a one-way job.. (Engine charges house)
With all the electroincs that need power full time, running or not, this may include the steps by the way.. Radio, Clock, Engine and tranny control computers, and such... If you sit too long.. DEAD BATTERY.
And one of the reason I am big on DEEP CYCLE batteries for the house is this:
Starting batteries do not recover anywhere near as well as Deep Cycles do from a deep (Below half) Discharge. (And marine/deep cycle are mostly starting type).
