I think the problem is they buy the cabinets, ready made to their size specs, from a cabinet maker.. Now, hung in a Sticks and Bricks, those doors will last decades with reasonable care.. Bouncing over pot holes and speed bumps at 5-55 mph, not so long.. As you found out.
I have the same problem. On 3 of the mirrored doors (I have more to go but teh smaller medicine cabinet doors I do not think Ill have this problem) I've put corner braces on all 4 corners.. now these... hold rather well.

They go on the INSIDE of the door so they are not visible when door is closed.
