What's your mileage?

Hi all,

The equipment: a 28'5" class C E-450 fully loaded weight of 13750 lbs. It has oversize wheels and tires to improve clearance. It has air tabs.

The trip was on pretty much flat prairie from Davidson Sk, to Pike Lake Sk and back. I'm a slow driver at 80 kph (50 mph)

Distance 371.5 kilometres (230.8 miles)

Fuel 83.609 litres (22.087 us gallons)

That works out to 22.6 litres per 100 k or 10.4 mpg US (13 mpg imperial)

Cost was $127.78 cdn

It is all a matter of choices. Some people want to "camp" with a high degree of comfort in something as big as a mobile home. That is not my choice. For my upcoming trip, I plan to travel about 15000 miles over a period of 3-4 months. I will see lots of National Parks and other great scenic areas with rarely even a week in one location. BTW I do keep the speed down to 65 mph or less and get roughly 12-13 mpg.
  • My 40,000# bus conversion with Detroit diesel Seties 60 engine gets 6.5 - 7 MPG. I travel at the speed limit (plus a few) up to 73-74 where I top out. The majority of our driving is Interstate as I am looking for more time at the destination than the travels.
  • I travel heavy but mileage is good in mountains and flatlands. 2014 Ram 1500 4x4 5.7 V8 Hemi. Cheers to fellow
