Could it be that the ground wire presumably going to the chassis has a lot less risk of picking up interference than the positive wire that's distributed all over the RV? With the miniscule voltage drop across the shunt a little interference could go a long way in throwing the readings off.Why does it matter? It can be at the source or load, or anywhere inbetween and the current drawn is the current drawn
The shunt shoud be on the negative side of battery within about 1 foot.
