Which 1156 LED Bulb are you using

Well I ordered These and they worked out great. Maybe slightly dimmer but walked into trailer the other night after putting them in and looked great.

I would suggest getting one wiht more LED's for the one over the Sink.

Incandescent were pulling 1.50 amps and these ones were pulling .35 amps per bulb.

It doesn't just make white "whiter". It changes all the colors around you to less "colorful". As somebody noted, colors look "washed out". But it also looks more contrast, better for office or kitchen work.

Thanks for the insight on washing out the colours. As for Chinese LEDs... I'm all for button North American made, but I highly doubt anything let alone LEDs are made here

I'm using these to replace my 1141/1156 style bulbs. Slightly brighter than the incandescent bulbs that were in there, good color, and decent warranty. I think the warranty has even improved a bit since the last time I bought these.

It doesn't reflect the light like a mirror would; it diffuses the reflected light to eliminate the 'hot spots'.

In my "old" 5er, I used pads for the ceiling and cobs for countertops, dinette, etc. LEDTrailerLights has 400 lumen, regulated cool white bulbs. They also have 360 lumen warm white but are out of stock right now. They are expensive but I had a few of their old 380 lumen warm whites and they were excellent.

I have both the bulb style and the pad style LED's. My experience has been that the pad style direct quite a bit more light downward than a bulb style with the same number of LED's. Therefore for ceiling fixtures, I use all pad style now, and only use bulb style in reading type fixtures that don't lend themself to a pad style.

I bought all my bulbs on ebay from various sellers, got great prices and am very happy with them. None of the pad style have come unstuck, in spite of the fact that our TT was sitting in 100 degree plus Southwest AZ heat between camping trips.

I much prefer the cool bright white, tho to each his own -- some like the warm white.

48-plate with 1210 LEDs is probably the closest match in brightness. I've been trying to figure out why there is so much difference in lumen ratings for same size panels. Must be the difference between 1210 and 5050 diodes - thanks, Tenbear.

Do you really believe that white surface reflects all the light, like a mirror? We would have all been using painted walls instead of mirrors then. If you go for a "bullet" shape, then at least get 1.5 more lumen rating, compared to 18 watt incandescent - to compensate for the losses of upward light. 18W bulb has 264 lumens, so with "bullet" LED you need rating around 400 lumens.

Personally, I don't have much trust in the lumen ratings on eBay. Lumens are the total light emitted from the light bulb. The panels appear brighter than the cob (looks like a small corn cob, probably the same as you call a bullet) style lights. I like the panels for overhead lighting and the cobs for more diffused lighting, like storage spaces.

I recommend buying one or two to see if you like them before buying a whole bunch. There can be some variation between the apparently same lights made by different venders.
