Do you really believe that white surface reflects all the light, like a mirror? We would have all been using painted walls instead of mirrors then. If you go for a "bullet" shape, then at least get 1.5 more lumen rating, compared to 18 watt incandescent - to compensate for the losses of upward light. 18W bulb has 264 lumens, so with "bullet" LED you need rating around 400 lumens.
Yes I do believe the white reflects the light otherwise why are they not painted black.
