The 35 ah just happened to be the first battery I grabbed. I expected four hours and stopped the first test at fourteen hours while still reading over 12.0 volts. This was a test, not the final solution. The plan is to use a larger battery and some solar to extend the run time. Right now, I am just trying to determine some usage numbers. Kill A Watt shows about 48 watts maximum usage on shore power for the little Alpicool. 24 hour usage was about .5 kwh. The automatic shutoff default setting of 11.9 volts should assure that I will not be unnecessarily harming the battery. I do not intend to hit the shutoff in regular use.
