Which screws to uninstall Magic Chef range?

Hi all:

I need to remove my Magic Chef BT16RA4 range to get access to my city water inlet line that is leaking.

I have the original installation manual, but it just vaugely points to 4 screws, 2 on each side, along the upper edge of the stove under the burner plate.

It also mentions two screws down near the bottom corners of the oven door, which I cannot find any there.

Can someone look at these pictures and tell me which screws I need to remove? Some of them are rusted fixed and I can't remove them, otherwise I'd just remove them all.

Thanks!

  • It looks like you can easily tell which screws have material (probably edge of countertop cutout, or front face of cabinet) to screw into.

I could not easily tell. I unscrewed a couple of them - some of them were obviously self-tapping sheet metal screws and only one of them was long enough to possibly be a mounting wood screw.

Some of them are rusted tight and I stripped the screw cross somewhat. I guess I'm going to have to spray them all down with penetrating oil and remove them all until I find the ones that are holding it in place.
  • I would LOVE to get one of those oven dials! they are no longer available! If anybody has one please contact me via private message.

    Thanks

  • Thanks Bud,

Can you see them in my pictures? I don't see any screws in the corners.

  • There is one in each corner on the sides in the black trim.
I doubt whether the lower ones were installed.
Remember the gas line will not have much slack and is most likely copper tubing.
