It's obviously not wrong, there doesn't seem to be a more correct way and a credible explanation or strong reasoning why to go one way or the other. When we just had our shocks installed, the owner said something about sometimes they install them pointing towards the equalizer and he had a reason why, but now I've forgotten. Maybe a few phone calls to some local frame & axle shops might yield some ideas. Maybe in the beginning, Monroe just started a trend and it became the norm?
