The icemaker just activates a valve on the water supply, often found on the lower rear of the fridge. I must also ask if you have the water on - either city water or the water pump?
Sounds like either the water supply is off or the valve has failed, less likely is a failure of the contacts in the icemaker itself.
The basic icemaker should be easily replaceable and not too expensive online. Usually only a couple of mounting screws and the wiring connector.
