Correct. The amp rating is ONLY for the plug, not the booster part. You can do what you are doing, but the system is not designed to do it. I would much prefer to have a 1000 watt Inverter ONLY, that has pass thru relay, to power my entertainment centers. That is what OEM's do and it works as designed. Doug
