- mboppExplorerI wouldn't say boondocking, but we've done 2 weeks w/o hookups. I like to run the genny a few hours a day but if we're out I can go at least 2 days on the batteries.
- 2oldmanExplorer IIWhom's whom of boondocking.
I do that every year at Quartzsite et al. Solar and Gen. Tech issues? really? - 2lazy4UExplorerI campground host in a primitive site in Utah about 5 months/year, all solar. I spend most of the summer traveling and boondock pretty much exclusively through Canada and Alaska. I sometimes spend the winter in St. George and boondock. I do have home bases in Colorado and Utah where I spend a few weeks here and there.
125 watt Renogy portable panel and 800 watt pure sine inverter. - RoyBExplorer IIWe do alot of OFF-ROAD camping here within 150 miles of home... Run off batteries all night and recharge next day with 2KW Generator for three hours... Usually pull around 20 AMPS DC Current between 6PM and 11PM each night running things off our 255AH Battery Bank.
Every third day I have to refill the generator tank with gas.. Can stay out a good 12-14 days before doing harm to my batteries. Hard for me to run my generator for 12 hours or more to get a full 100% charge state going...
