Why do People run AC with doors and windows open??

I think a lot of people have way to much free time on there hands to notice what other people are doing. me, I don,t care if you run your ac 24,,7

Ok, what about this reason,... if I'm short on juice thru my 16 ga ext cord, and I don't want my compressor cycling off,.....for fear it won't get going again ??

I have been on other RV sites with big arguments going on from global warming believers. Just laugh and move on.

because all of those windmills are providing green power..so it doesn't matter.

Couldn't agree more except to say this isn't just a "tiny bit hypocritical" but simply HYPOCRITICAL. C'mon indeed. :S

Most times, if we're running the A/C, we will close the windows and main entry door simply because it does allow the A/C to run more efficiently, 'though sometimes if we're going in and out frequently we do forget to close the main door. I've got clear Optix panels on the lower half of the screen door so our dog doesn't destroy the screening ...



... but the upper half is just a screen that would allow some cold air to escape ... oh how horrible that we might on occasion not close the main door completely. :S

Because there is no limit on stupidity.

Having only one "hole" open because it's frequently used is a different matter, especially if it's covered with a screen.

The justifications, rationalizations, and denials abound. Waste is waste whether the other guy is paying for it or not

We leave the door open almost all the time to let in the light and to see the goings on outside. When running the heat or A/C, We have clear panels inserted into the screen door to keep the heat or A/C in/out.

I've seen this on others numerous times.

Some people just don’t care or know any better! A friend of mine use to rent two identical apartment complexes, one included heat and AC with the rent and the other rent plus heat and AC costs. It was not unusual to see those including rent, heat & AC with doors and windows open in the summer and winter. If it got too hot or cold rather than adjusting the thermostat they just open doors &/or windows.

He finally changed the rent arrangements. As utility costs go up we could see more CGs separating the utility cost from their rent.
