Hi,
There is simply not enough active area to sustain a 140 amp draw on twin six volt batteries. The thicker plates are a two edged sword. They do exhibit greater voltage drop.
There are some things to check.
Is the converter turned off?
Fridge on propane?
Water heater on propane?
You might also try "warming up" the inverter by running a 200 watt load and then switching to the inverter.
