FWIW, your inverter (PSW or MSW) and batteries should be plenty. We use our MW all the time with Heart 1000W MSW inverter and 2 6V batteries. We can't use anything else at while we use the MW (e.g. if the TV is also on, the inverter will overload the inverter and it will shut down) but it does work. It could certainly be the wiring (I think ours is 2/0 (factory wires on the inverter) but for a larger inverter, you want 4/0). Could also be your installation, our inverter/charger has a built-in transfer switch so there's no switch to wire / flip - maybe the switch can't handle the load (I really don't know anything about these things).
