Running 2000W inverter necessitates more than just a pair of 6V that the OP has. Getting 2000W inverter and double or triple battery bank only to be able to run a MW, and making sure every time that no other loads are running - this all looks like too much hassle to me. But they have no choice, already investing $1,200 in inverter + parts and labor, so now they have to go all the way and get 2 more batteries (possibly to replace existing ones too), and a room for that.I totally agree that 2 6V's is too light for this task but it can be done as BFL has mentioned. And there are some caveats (low battery life, must run at higher SOC's). I think we have differing camping styles as I would most definitely get a large battery bank to suit a specific purpose. Mine was not having to run the generator while camping which if I had a 2000W inverter, I would still be able to accomplish that (no propane oven...convection/MW combo unit). In my old 5er I could go a week without a genny.
