How would it do that, when he's dry camping and dropping the voltage on his batteries with no solar recharging after dark, and watching TV with some lights on in the evening/ night? I'd be assuming it stays in "taper" and if enough amps gets drawn down, his indicator and voltage drop would put it back into "bulk" mode by day break, if his voltage drops enough, before his solar panels start collecting again.
Rich keeps his system simple, yet effective. Glad he can go for a few months on just solar alone, and rarely, if ever, have to use the generator.
The charge controller he has for his panels tops out at 14.4 V. I'm wondering what a PD series has to see voltage wise, and for how long to go into and stay in float mode?
I've hooked up my PD 9245 on a topped off battery showing 12.7V, and the pendant has so far, every time, started up in taper mode for the blinking light pattern. I don't think I've ever seen it in float mode, but then, I've not plugged in to hookups for days on end yet with the PD9245, I've only so far used it dry camping.
