You need to find the problem before asking about a solution. When set to LP, your fridge still uses 12v for the control board. Trouble shoot two things. How old are the bats.
What is the voltage at the bats when you stop? What is the voltage at the bat after 2 & 4 hours. If your bats die, your control board stops turning on the fridge burner. If bats are the problem then trace it to the converter. Is the converter working?
Second is, is there lp flowing?
It is possible that the LP mode could work while on 110v, manually set to LP, if your converter is working. Just another way to figure out if is bats or converter or other.
Either of the above will result in the burner not working.
