Window Sealant keeps dripping out

How common is this and at what point do i need to remove the windows and add more sealant? Maybe a different brand that handles warmer temps better? (trailer parked in socal)

Every single window has huge drips that i scraped off. Its starting to drip again. 2013 Forest river stealth.

Any tips to cleanup? IPA and acetone arent touching it. I know auto detailers like Citrol 266 for hard to remove grease and oils.

  • that doestn't look like butyl to me
it looks like a polyurethane than never fully cured, and melts
i saw a shower skylight doing that in an RV we looked at
it dripped on the sides of the shower stall
clean it up and seal it with something else, to keep it in
the only real cure is to remove the window clean out all the old OEM sealant
and reseal the window with something that will not do that
Butyl tape or maybe 3M polyurethane or pro-seal ?
  • My Wildwood has been doing that for years. I suspect that some worker grabbed self leveling sealant when he could not find his arse with both hands.
  • The Butyl sealant can ooze out for years. Use a plastic (never metal) putty knife to remove the excess and then mineral spirits for the residue.
  • I had a forest river toy hauler for 7 years , 12 year's ago . I would give them a call they might help
  • Amazon has it. I've been in construction for 49 years using Sika products. You will find no better. You may want to call and explain your application and they will advise you.Question them if this will work Sikaflex-221 White 10.1 fl. oz. Cartridge. If not they will advise you from there.
