- GordonThreeExplorerHow many channels are listed using the seek or channel readout on the Winegard?
What do you have the gain set to?
How many channels do you get with no booster at all (are you in a fringe area?) - DReisingerExplorerI show 11 channels on the channel setting, running the gain at 10 changed to 15, no difference. No channels without an amplifier. We are about 45 miles North of WPB
- wyocowboy00Explorer IIIf you are able to do so and have a multi-meter, go up on the roof and disconnect the coax cable going to the antenna and check to see if you have 12 volts on the cable going back toward the amplifier. If not, then there is probably a blown fuse.
- GordonThreeExplorerWhen you switch to "seek" mode on the Winegard, you get 11 individual channels, or it just shows the number 11, which is going to be the strongest channel being received. When on "seek" you should be able to press up or down and count the number of channels being received. Keep the gain setting as low as possible, as usually more power makes things work instead of better.
- mike-sExplorerWhere's that Radio Shack thing wired in? You very likely don't need it, and it's probably making things worse. The batwing has an internal amp. The Sensar Pro has an adjustable amp. You have all the amplification you can use. Adding more doesn't get you more stations, it just increases the noise.
Make sure the cables are connected to the right places on the back of the Sensar Pro. - RJsfishinExplorerYou should not be running another amplifier w/ the one built in.
- lj2654Explorerdid you do the scan for channels after tuning in the best signal?
- DReisingerExplorerRight now I have 12.7 at the connector to the antenna coax, there is a connector in the overhead of the bedroom that can be accessed by removing speaker, if I have juice there, next will be the roof.
- wa8yxmExplorer IIIOk, there are several differnt places you can park but I will describe some
IN some places you don't get squat. I mean there is simply NO SIGNAL and if there is NO SIGNAL no amount of amplification will help. You need more Altitude. (Height is might). I have a story but will leave off, bandwidth issues.
The second type of place is you have STRONG and Weak signals. NOW this is very common across the US but not universal.. IN this condition the Sensar Pro shines as the weak signals may well benefit from the boost So you may get say 3 Channels say 8 or 9 "Services" without boost and say 5 and 15 with. (Nunbers are examnples only)
And another type you have only weak.. Oh boy does the Sensar pro work there You foom ZERO to many
ANd finally you have places (And I have been in some though not with the RV where you have VERY VERY VERY Strong signals,,,, The Sensar pro can back them off a bit (Turn it down to like 0 or 1) so they don't overload your TV
HOW TO TEST the sensar pro.
Fire up your TV and go to the antenna pointing option on the TV's menu.
Adjust gain and see if it affects signal strength on the TV.
NOTE Many Tv's if you dont' have at least 50% you don't have any signal. - Johno02ExplorerThere are several free apps for your smart phone that will tell you what channels you should be able to receive in your area, and what direction to point your antenna. Works good for me..
