Rather than quibble may I offer the following...
The two little wires going from shunt to meter should be TWISTED the full length of the run. Six inches, Sixty feet, it does not matter. Sixteen gauge AWG marine wire is great. The terminals for the sense lead wires MUST BE SOLDERED if you expect to have an accurate shunt reading a year from now. Smear silicone GREASE all over the shunt. Gob it on, after assembly. 99.99% of problems that I encountered with customer's shunts were caused by untwisted wires, and oxidized terminations.
