wiring solar to batteries

I had a brain fart. I have 2 12 v batteries do I wire the controller to each battery or pos to one neg to other or or to the on that is farthest away for the FW connection ?

    it is 45A Mppt and the run is under 3'. it said wire is rated 65 amps

  • Thanks Guys after this it all came back to me. One more question do you think 6awg is enough to go from controller to battery, I have a lot left.
  • Wiring to the positive on one battery and negative on the other is the correct and balanced way to do this. All other loads and charging should be done the same way.
  • Mine came factory installed. They wired the positive to one battery (with an inline fuse) and the negative to the other battery.
