Would Mercury Quicksilver grease work in my wheel bearings?

IT's what is currently in my grease gun and we know what a mess it is to change a non-empty cartridge. I don't know my axle brand. I have electric brakes. I assume about any type would be suitable for...

Put a piece of shinny silver duct tape on the side and then write on the tape with a big black magic marker. That way you can remove the tape if you put a different grease in it
