I do not agree with this, although I agree with the rest of the advice given.

If your converter is doing 13.8 and your smart charger is doing 14.4, the batteries will just see the amps from the 14.4 charger. When that one drops to its 13.6, then the batteries will ignore that one and just take amps from the 13.8 one. The one with the highest voltage will do all the work.

If you want two chargers to add their amps for a faster recharge, you need to have both chargers at close to the same voltage, so they have nearly the same "spreads" between their voltages and the battery voltage.

If their spreads are different, then their amps will still add as long as they both have some spread, but the one with the biggest spread will provide more amps than the other out of their total.

I guess CANNOT is a poor choice of words. I should have stated, there is NO reason to have 2 chargers doing the same thing. Especially when you have a more than adequate Smart Inverter/Charger. The Converter will NEVER be able to do anything more or help the system with a Inverter/Charger. But I stand by my statement that with BOTH connected, you have a better chance of overcharging the system. Now, the Pic shows what I suggested. Take the front cover OFF to expose the 120 breakers. Find the Converter breaker and odds are on this model you will see a yellow wire nut with 2 to 3 black 120 wires to it. ONE of those wires will go to the Converter module. Disconnect that wire to disengage the Power Converter. BUT, as another suggested, you really need to take it to a professional. I would charge you $75 at my shop to check the system and disconnect the that black wire. Since you obviously do not know what you are doing, $75 is cheap insurance. Doug
