Grey wire next to the black tubing may well go to the control panel. The tubing contains another set of smaller wire going to the batteries.
Small wires to the battery are either voltage sensing or temperature sensor is my guess.
Is there only one 120vac cable to the inverter? If so there is a good bit of rewiring that needs to be completed. Get the mobile guy out to look at it or bring it West and I will look at it.
