Please see photos of small black box attached to the frame close to the batteries.
Could this be the mystical solar controller of which you speak?

If that is the controller, it seems odd from what I've seen and been described that it would be a closed box with no display of ability to adjust or change settings.
The batteries are still at an even 12volts when tested with the voltmeter, same reading as the panel. This is with the inverter/charger turned on, the OEM converter disconnected, and plugged into house current. This has remained steady for a couple of days now.
I've just turned the inverter/charger off at the remote panel with the idea of leaving it off for a couple of hours and seeing if anything changes.
If no further suggestions or possible solutions result from these photos and last bit of information I'm pretty sure I will have run out of things to try and will reluctantly call in the mobile RV guy. I'd prefer to take it back to the dealer and avoid paying out money I shouldn't have to but I really don't have much faith in them unless someone here can point to the box or whatever and say, "Ah, there is your problem, " so I can pass that on to the dealer.
