Thanks all for their input. To clarify;

The unit was sent to and returned from Xantrex, "parts not available".
No visible damage inside (I looked first)
Inverter ran the microwave just fine.
Just bought a re-manufactured on ebay for $900.00
I now have a very nice inverter for the ham shack beer fridge and 150 AH of batteries to power it.

C/20 of 484 is 24.2...

C/5 of 484 is 96.8 :)

Interesting tidbit about the Prosine 2.0

I had the hardwire version on a whole-house installation. When trying to start the air con from generators (2 honda), they would overload, and the Pro would take over and start the air, the gens would catch up and run the air, and the Pro would drop out.

With the Pro gone, and a Samlex in the same configuration, the generators have no problem starting and running the air. But the Sam won't start the air.

"The 12 Volt version is no longer made"....Its still available at Amazon, and Xantrex still shows it at their website...Please Clarify. Thanks

The local dealer told me they no longer made the 12V units. I only saw the 24 volt ones on the site I looked at the other day. Now you made me check again and battery voltage isn't mentioned. :h

At any rate, I have one coming. I hope.

I can seem to find the Prosine numeric codes online anywhere. I have a Prosine 2.0 with "Dreaded Error Code 0258"...
How do I fix that? (I am an electrical Engineer, so I know just enough to be dangerous :-)

There is a man at Quartsite who fixes 'em. Next time I get there (Was hoping this year but not looking good since the slide out motor/transmission is shot) I will hand him mine....

For the time I went with a FREEDOM 2000 XC Less than 1,000 Remote included and I did the install myself. Have the following observations

Where as the Prosine had toggle switches that disabled the inverter. or charger this one does not. However there is a way (I use a different charger so I disabled it) and I can turn it on and off via the remote.. just more hoops.

Second the connections were..Much more of a pain. the "Quick connectors" they provide did not like my older 10ga wires. I had to make them connect.

After that I got 'er hooked up but unlike the Prosine the ON/OFF is quite different. A single button and NO indication if the inverter is in 'Standby' or "off" modes.

Last time I moved (This was not a problem) I had a different 12 volt issue that sucked battery down for just an instant. Low enough my LED lights flicked.. The inverter SHUT OFF. I had to re-activate it when next I noticed.

But otherwie it is working well

I miss some of the Prosine's features though.
