I've never actually test mine to see which source is the preffered source as I have my 2 wired per the manufacture instructions with the remote panel installed. Inverter is always off unless I need it. If no shore power available just turn on inverter remotely and bingo power to the circuits. Never tested it to see which source it chooses if both are available but I believe the device is a normal power seeking electronic ABT. This means it takes it power from what ever source is available and transfers to it. If both sources are available it chooses shore power.
