They all pretty much work the same. Its either a DPDT or 2-SPST relays. The inverter is in the normally closed position so it does not require power to the relay. The DC relay coil is engaged to the shore power position from 120V AC power supply in the transfer switch. There should be no way to get inverter power to the outlets when shore power is present.
The transfer switch also supplies the ground to neutral switching required by UL458 for mobile applications.
