Yamaha 2000iS won't run without choke

Its running lean and the choke enriches it. Its starving for fuel so it has a fuel system issue. It probably needs the carb bowl removed and clean the bowl and main jet BUT again its something that is starving it. It could be a plugged fuel strainer in the tank or fuel valve or crud in the carb.
